Yeah... I'm one of those people. I never understood why I like collecting computers and hardware so much. It's not like many of these are special, valuable, super desirable, or even good. Maybe it's because I'm autistic, or it could be because my dad used to have a small collection of computers when I was a small child and I took inspiration from him and other random people on YouTube that had a whole collection of computers... for some reason.

I hopped to this from my HP EliteBook 845 G7 due to a broken keycap on the EliteBook, and the keyboard being welded to the case... uh no, I really would rather not bring out a soldering iron to replace just a keyboard when the rest of the top case is fine! Yeah, the partially soldered RAM is pretty lame, but for what I paid and how I use my laptop (mostly as a web terminal, including writing this website), it's plenty fine. |

That's not typical of them to price a Mac that low, let alone a somewhat modern one. Granted, it didn't have the charger, but for that low of a price I was willing to take take the gamble and buy a charger seperately. After being $34 in with getting a charger, I think it paid off nicely! This is what some folks consider to be one of the greatest Intel Macs ever, alongside the (frankly overrated in this day and age) MacBookPro9,1. Personally, I wish this was an 11,4 instead, because the AMD Radeon R9 M370X GPU in the 11,5 makes OpenCore Legacy Patcher effectively a no-go due to both the IGP and DGP having mis-matched (conflicting) versions of the Metal API. The 11,4 does not have the R9 M370X GPU, which is less trouble for OCLP and also less of a power pig in other OS'es, as the 11,5 runs the DGP in other OS'es 100% of the time. Hey, I can't be too nitpicky for what I paid for the machine though! |

Same CPU, screen, and GPU too - only that I haven't upgraded the RAM nor the disk in mine, and have it running only Windows 2000. Oh, and it needs a new set of hinges... PP01X hinges love to break. Because of that, I haven't used this one in quite a while - but because of its tri-spindle design, it makes for a great bridge laptop for talking with both modern computers via network and (unfortunately only 1.1 speed) USB, and really old computers via 3.5 inch floppies! |

Despite having an AMD Athlon XP processor, there really isn't much reason to run XP on one of these anymore. These machines are much better suited to Windows 2000, or if you want to deal with an outdated kernel even for the time, 98SE/Me. |
